Neversoft was a game development company founded in June 1994 by Joel Jewett, Mick West and Chris Ward . She was best known for the Tony Hawk video game series, parts of which were published by Activision . In 1999 the company was bought by Activision.

Since 2007 they have been developing several parts of the successful Guitar Hero music game series . Sales of the third installment in the series, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock alone , amount to over a billion US dollars. In January 2009 it was announced that Neversoft would give up the development of further parts of the Tony Hawk's series and concentrate entirely on the Guitar Hero series.

Due to the poor sales results of Guitar Hero , Activision announced in February 2010 that Neversoft had to lay off employees.

Neversoft develops their games for PC , Playstation , GameCube , Xbox , Wii , Xbox 360 , PlayStation 3 , Game Boy Advance , DS and PSP .

In 2014 it was announced that Neversoft and Infinity Ward would be merged and that Neversoft would no longer exist as a game development company.
