Elmar Brandt (born September 20, 1971 in Düsseldorf ) is a German voice imitator who gained notoriety primarily through regular imitation of politicians.

Life

His best-known series is the Gerd Show , in which current events were comedically processed, among others with the voice of Gerhard Schröder . The Gerd show , which was produced together with the author and producer Peter Burtz from 1999, was broadcast as a short comedy daily format on various radio stations until 2005 (including NDR2, 1Live, hr3, Bayern3, MDR Jump, SR1, Radio Regenbogen, Antenne Bayern, 104.6 RTL , Radio Ton, Hit 1, Inselradio Mallorca). The show's greatest success was the Steuersong , which reached number one in the charts in Germany and Austria at the turn of the year 2002/2003 and stayed there for a total of 19 weeks. Over a million records were sold and the song went double platinum. The song is based on the summer hit of the year 2002 Aserejé (The Ketchup Song) by Las Ketchup .

Fateful Years of a Chancellor - a woman is making her way as a new political comedy format with Elmar Brandt and Anne Onken as Merkel parodist. The team has been producing the successful Comedy Supermerkel as a successor series since 2007 .

Elmar Brandt later parodied the politician Klaus Wowereit daily for the Berlin radio station 104.6 RTL . With a city tour through Berlin led by a Wowereit doll , he made headlines again in August 2007.
