program

104.6 RTL positions itself as “Berlins Hitradio” and uses the claim “The best new hits and the RTL greatest hits”.

The best-known and oldest program on 104.6 RTL is the morning show " Arno and the morning crew ". In contrast to the rest of the program, the program has a comparatively high proportion of words, which mainly consists of comedy content. There are also messages that are sent every half hour. Traffic reports and weather reports are re-broadcast every 10 minutes in the morning. Since the start of the broadcast, the early broadcast has been moderated by Arno Müller, who is also the station's program director . In 2014 and 2016, “Arno and the Morning Crew” was awarded the German Radio Prize as the best morning program in Germany.

The rest of the day's program is heavily music-heavy and is interrupted by short presentations, event tips, hourly news (which are always broadcast 10 minutes before the hour), a traffic report and weather report as well as advertising.

history

The program has been broadcast since September 9, 1991. The model for 104.6 RTL was the radio station 102.7 KIIS-FM in Los Angeles, from which even the construction of the broadcasting studio, as well as numerous program elements, had been adapted when it started broadcasting.

Since 1997, 104.6 RTL has organized “Stars For Free”, one of the largest free open air festivals in the Parkbühne Wuhlheide .
