Tobias Menzies
Tobias Menzies (born March 7, 1974 in London ) is a British actor .
life and career
After completing his school career, Menzies decided to take up professional training in acting. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art , which he graduated from in 1998.
Menzies has been regularly featured in films since 2000. At first he worked in television films, such as I Saw You in 2002 , but soon appeared in the cinema. His best-known film to date is Casino Royale , in which he played a supporting role. During his career, he appeared in various television series , including the HBO productions Rome (2005 to 2007, as Brutus ) and Game of Thrones (2013, as Edmure Tully ). Since 2014 he has played double roles as Frank Randall and Jonathan Randall in the Outlander series . Since 2018 he has been in front of the camera as Prince Philip for the Netflix series The Crown , for which he received a nomination in the category of Best Series Leading Actor - Drama for the Golden Globe Awards 2020 in December 2019 .
From June 2019 he will play the leading role in a theater adaptation of Thomas Vinterberg's The Hunt at London's Almeida Theater .
