action

The Lycan Marius is looking for Eve and hopes to find her through her mother Selene. During a chase by the werewolves , David rescues the death dealer. He and his father Thomas persuade Selene to accept the amnesty of the Eastern Order and to return to the vampire community to train the vampires for the fight against the Lycans. The offer turns out to be a trap for council member Semira, who Selene cannot forgive the death of Victor and wants to become the most powerful vampire in the order through intrigues. David saves the death dealer with his father, but Thomas is killed by Semira during the escape.

The two find shelter at the Northern Order. Vidar, the eldest of this order, opens David, son of Amelia and thus the last pure-bred vampire to be. Shortly thereafter, the northern fortress is attacked by the Lycans, and Selene is defeated by Marius. When he realizes that the vampire does not know the whereabouts of her daughter, he calls to withdraw. The dying Selene searches across the water for the way into the other world, which Vidar's daughter had promised her shortly before.

Upon his return to the Eastern Order, David exposes Semira's intrigues and takes the lead in defending the castle from the Lycans. The battle seems to be lost when Selene, who has returned from the other world, brings the turning point together with vampires from the Northern Order. In a duel with Marius, Selene comes into contact with his blood and learns that the Lycan killed her lover Michael in order to get his blood. Ingesting the blood gives it additional power. Running out of blood, he is desperate to find Eve, who has the same qualities as her father. Selene kills Marius and ends the attack on the order.

criticism

The lexicon of the international film judges: "Endeavored continuation of the fantasy series about the fight between vampires and werewolves, in which the humans have revealed the secret of both species and do everything to wipe them out. (...) The fantasy spectacle is growing deals with questions about the possibility of different peoples living together and combines heavy metal, film noir, black romanticism, fetishism and decadence into a half-baked horror-action roar. "

“Selene has reached a personal low and, despite the usual tight paintwork and leather outfit, looks more thoughtful and fragile than before. […] Right from the start, the film delivers the usual portion of action that one is used to from the blue-black colored 'Underworld' world. Surprisingly, what follows is more than a simple string of action scenes: the balance of power shifts in an exciting way, unexpected twists and turns and unclear rules of the game emerge. "

"The fantasy spectacle revolves around questions about the possibility of different peoples living together and combines heavy metal, film noir, black romanticism, fetishism and decadence into a half-baked horror-action roar."
