Karl Walter Lindenlaub

Karl Walter Lindenlaub (born June 19, 1957 in Bremen ) is a German cameraman .

Life

Lindenlaub grew up in Hamburg . From 1977 to 1981 he studied at the University of Television and Film Munich . He then went on to study at the National Film and Television School in England. Hollywood Monster (1986) was his first of five works with Roland Emmerich .

Lindenlaub has lived in the USA since 1991 and has not only been involved in Emmerich's work there, such as Universal Soldier (1991) and Independence Day (1996), he has also done other important works there such as Rob Roy (1994) and The Chronicles of Narnia : Prince Caspian of Narnia (2008). As a lecturer, he headed the camera / image design department at the University of Hamburg , postgraduate course in film.

He is a member of both the Federal Camera Association and the American Society of Cinematographers , the most important associations for cameramen in Germany and the United States. For Moon 44 (1990) Lindenlaub was awarded the Golden Camera in the category Best Cinematography. He got another award and a nomination. He is also involved in television advertising, particularly in collaboration with the Snorri brothers.
