occupation

Hollywood Monster is a German feature film directed by Roland Emmerich . The science fiction film was released on June 25, 1987 in German-speaking cinemas.

action

The two young directors Fred and Warren hope for a breakthrough when they inherit a watch from Grandpa Warren. The ghost of the old butler living in this tells of a treasure hidden in the old house of the ancestor. This is strictly guarded, however, and the building is to be blown up for a film. With great effort, the coup finally succeeds in saving the house and the treasure from the greedy film producer.

criticism

The lexicon of international films saw a “ film crammed full of technically pretty tricks, but which lacks any sense of tension. Miserably staged and played. ”Kino.de also judges similarly, because“ presumably intended as an homage to horror cinema, the confused plot is mainly characterized by a lack of tension and humor ”. At most Paul Gleason deserves praise for his performance in the role of villain.

publication

The film was released on video cassette in the United States on February 7, 1990 . In 2001 the film was released on DVD , but in full screen and with no bonus material.
