Egon Werdin

Egon Werdin (born November 17, 1954 in Dinkelsbühl ; † August 18, 2018 in Berlin ) was a German cameraman .

Werdin received his training at the University of Television and Film Munich in the documentary / directing department. In 1982 he started working as a cameraman. He initially worked in the service of some outsider productions and in 1986 received the German Camera Prize for Hidden Love . In 1990 he was the camera award winner in the feature film category for Traced Paths .

He also shot well-known popular hits such as Otto - Der Ausserfriesische and Werner - Beinhart! . In the 1990s Werdin was increasingly active in large-scale European productions. The films Feuerreiter and Wearing Short Pants for a Lifetime each earned him a nomination for the German Camera Prize. In his later years he often took on television roles, including the crime series Tatort .
