Ute Wieland

Ute Wieland (born April 8, 1957 in Großbottwar ) is a German director and screenwriter .

Life

Ute Wieland first studied German language and literature and theater and communication studies at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and then moved to the University of Television and Film Munich , where she now teaches as a freelance lecturer.

She also wrote the script for her first work Tango im Bauch (1983). In 1989, at the request of the film producer Hans W. Geißendörfer , she wrote the book for In the Year of the Tortoise and directed it, based on the novel Death Days by Hans Werner Kettenbach . The film was nominated for the German Film Prize and Heinz Bennent received it in gold for best actor.

In addition to works for television, her work includes FC Venus - attack is the best defense (2006) and the children's book adaptation Freche Mädchen (2008). In the summer of 2010, Wieland's next directorial work for the cinema followed with Freche Mädchen 2 .
