Kathryn "Katee" Ann Sackhoff (born April 8, 1980 in Portland , Oregon ) is an American actress . She was best known for the roles of Kara "Starbuck" Thrace from Battlestar Galactica and Vic Moretti in Longmire .

Life

Katee Sackhoff graduated from Beaverton High School in 1998 and began taking dance and acting classes while in high school . Her German-American father is a landscape engineer and her mother runs an ESL language program.

After filming Battlestar Galactica in 2008, she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had her thyroid removed.

Career

Sackhoff had her first role in 1998 in the television film Too Young for a Baby . In the television series The Education of Max Bickford in 2001 she portrayed the daughter of the title character Nell Bickford , the series had 22 episodes. This was followed by appearances in television series such as Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme (2002), Boomtown (2003) or Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forgotten (2004) and the film Halloween: Resurrection (2002). Two other films were released in 2007: The Last Sentinel and White Noise: Fear the Light .

Sackhoff became known to a wide audience through her role as Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in the science fiction series Battlestar Galactica . From 2003 Sackhoff played one of the leading roles in the miniseries, the four regular seasons and the television film, for which she received the 2006 Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in a television series .

Sackhoff also took part in the new edition of the series Bionic Woman , which was broadcast by the US broadcaster NBC in 2007, and took on the role of the antagonist of the series heroine Jamie Sommers as Sarah Corvus .

In addition to various guest appearances, Sackhoff presented the Dr. Theodora "Teddy" Rowe in the series Nip / Tuck - Beauty has its price . In the eighth season of the real-time series 24 , she was seen as CTU employee Dana Walsh . As herself, Sackhoff appeared in two episodes of The Big Bang Theory , each in Howard's Fantasy. In the hit series CSI: Vegas she played as Detective Frankie Reed . Since 2012 she played the female lead in the series Longmire as Victoria "Vic" Morettie , a deputy of the sheriff. The series and with it their engagement ended in 2017.

In 2013 she played the female lead Dahl in David Twohy's Riddick with Vin Diesel. Other film and television roles followed.
