Another Life tells the story of an astronaut and a space team who set out to find the origins of an alien artifact that has mysteriously appeared on Earth. While the crew tries to search for extraterrestrial intelligence , they encounter inexplicable horrors that could signal the end of their mission.

On April 26, 2018, Netflix announced that the production had placed a series contract for a first season of ten episodes. The series is being created by Aaron Martin, who will serve as executive producer alongside Noreen Halpern. On June 19, 2019, the premiere of the series was confirmed on July 25, 2019.
Filming for the first season took place in Vancouver , British Columbia from August 20 to November 20, 2018.

- Sasha states that there are "213 nations" on Earth as he recites his "First Contact Protocols" on the extraterrestrial crystal structure on the extraterrestrial moon.
