Louis Ozawa Changchien
Louis Ozawa Changchien (born October 11, 1975 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor of Japanese-Taiwanese origin.
life and career
Louis Ozawa Changchien was born in the New York borough of Queens to a Taiwanese and a Japanese mother who worked as a jewelry designer. He then grew up in the Manhattan borough and in Japan. He is fluent in Japanese . His mother was also working in the field of acting and modeling in Kyoto . Back in New York, he attended Riverdale Country School and Stuyvesant High School before studying at Brown University , from which he graduated with a Master of Fine Arts . At the beginning of his career, he was in front of the camera for a number of commercials as a child. He later worked for, among othersAT&T , Coca-Cola and Microsoft . In the meantime, he showed little interest in acting and did not decide to return to it until college. From then on, he began participating in the university's drama program. In his hometown he became a member of the theater group Partial Comfort .
In 2001 he made his acting debut in front of the camera with an appearance in the film On the QT . Sporadic appearances in smaller films and guest roles on television followed, such as in Law & Order . In 2008 he played Matsubara in the romantic comedy Gigantic . In 2010 he played a small role in the political drama Fair Game - Nothing is more dangerous than the truth and then appeared in the movie Predators as Hanzo in the supporting role of an enforcer. 2012 followed another small role in the film The Bourne Legacy . In addition, he appeared in the series Lights Out , Blue Bloods - Crime Scene New York , Marvel's Agents of SHIELD , Hawaii Five-0 and True Blood in supporting roles. In 2014 he took on a central role as Samuel in the series Matador , which was discontinued after only one season. In the same year he was also seen as Stanley Huang in the drama The Sisterhood of Night . In 2016 he took on a supporting role as Sgt. Chen in the movie Spectral . From 2015 to 2016 he played a small role as Paul Kasoura in the series The Man in the High Castle . In 2018 he appeared in a supporting role in the fourth season of Bosch . Further series appearances followed in MacGyver , Elementary , Magnum PI , Blindspot , Supergirl and The Good Fight . In 2020 he was part of the cast of the series Hunters as Joe Mizushima .
Changchen lives to this day in his native New York. He is the bearer of the black belt in the sport of kendo and also masters sword fighting. Another of his interests is photography. He made a number of images available on the metromix.com website from Los Angeles .
