Predators is an American science fiction film directed by Nimród Antal in 2010. The film is based on a draft script for a planned sequel to John McTiernan's film Predator by Robert Rodriguez , who also produced the film. The main role plays Oscar award winner Adrien Brody . Predators opened in German cinemas on July 8, 2010.

The mercenary Royce awakened in free fall through a jungle. His parachute opens automatically at the last moment and he lands in an unfamiliar jungle. He quickly realizes that he is not alone. More heavily armed people land with their parachutes near him; including the Mexican hit man of the Colombian drug cartel Cuchillo. Immediately the two of them are attacked by another person. Royce bypasses the shooter and advises him that he is firing at the wrong people. Along with protecting Nikolai, a Russian Spetsnaz -Soldaten, and the Israeli IDF - sniper meet Isabelle the four on the RUF -Rebellen Mombasa, who with Stans, a condemned felon fighting. Finally, the silent Yakuza Hanzo and the medic Edwin join the group. They quickly find out that no one knows where they are and that all of them only woke up in free fall over the jungle. You decide to find a way out of the jungle.
On their way they come across a complex of several traps that are obviously much too big to kill people with. Shortly afterwards they find the body of the trapper, an elite American soldier. For whom he built the traps remains unclear at first.
Royce leads the group on to a hill. There it becomes clear that they are no longer on earth, but that they were apparently brought to a strange celestial body to be hunted there. Shortly thereafter, the group is attacked by a variety of dog-like aliens. You can kill some of the attackers. The rest of them flee after a high-pitched whistle calls them back. When they want to move on, they find that Cuchillo is missing. You hear him quietly calling for help nearby. In a clearing he kneels with his back to them, obviously badly injured. They quickly discover that his body has been turned into a booby trap . Nobody wants to risk their life to save him. While most immediately move on unmoved, Isabelle Cuchillo gives the coup de grace . Since he still calls for help afterwards, she realizes that a hidden enemy was imitating the voice of the dead Cuchillo in order to lure her into the trap.
They follow in the footsteps of the alien dogs and reach a hunter camp where a Predator has been tied to a pole. There the group is attacked again, whereby Mombasa is killed. While Royce and Nikolai fight the attackers, the group escapes from the camp. Isabelle tells the group about the events that took place in Guatemala in 1987. She knows Dutch Schaefer's report about the first Predator.
The group decides to kill the Predators. Shortly before they can kill another alien, the former soldier Noland intervenes. Noland has survived several hunts on the planet and is hiding in an old tunnel boring machine. He explains to the group that the Predators always collect warriors from Earth and other planets in groups of three and hunt them on the planet to improve their own skills. Noland also tells them about a blood revenge between two Predator clans, as well as about a spaceship , which probably only the Predators know how to use. Royce considers freeing the Predator, who is tied up in the camp, and letting him fly the ship. Noland speaks loudly to himself several times and pretends to go to sleep, but shortly afterwards tries to murder the group in order to get their equipment. Royce fires his guns to alert the Predators to Noland. They kill Noland shortly afterwards.
The group can break free in the meantime. Since Edwin falls behind while trying to escape, Nikolai turns around and leads him back on the right path. A Predator fatally injures Nikolai, but Nikolai can detonate several bombs that kill him and the Predator. Edwin escapes with the others.
The group continues to be pursued by another Predator who initially kills Stans. Hanzo stays behind in a field to hunt down the Predator with a katana that he took from Noland's home. Hanzo kills the Predator, but is mortally wounded himself.
The group, shrunk to Royce, Isabelle and Edwin, is about to reach the camp when Edwin gets his foot trapped. Royce refuses to slow down for Edwin and rushes on to camp while Isabelle helps the injured Edwin. Both are caught by the berserker Predator, who initially locks them in a pit.
In the meantime, Royce has reached the camp and frees the tied Predator, who then unmasked and activated the spaceship by remote control. The last survivor of the three great Predators reaches the camp and begins a bitter fight with the conspecifics freed by Royce. The smaller Predator is defeated and is killed.
While Isabelle wants to plan the escape immediately in the pit, Edwin's real face is revealed. With a poisoned scalpel he cuts Isabelle, who is then paralyzed for a short time and can hardly move. He reveals to the horrified Isabelle that he is a psychopathic serial killer who feels like being among his own kind among the Predators and therefore no longer wants to flee the planet.
The Berserker Predator blows up the starting spaceship in the belief that it will kill the escaped Royce. Royce did not enter the ship, however, but turned around to save Isabelle. When Edwin tries to paralyze him too, Royce overpowers him. When the last surviving great Predator arrives, he finds the helpless Edwin lying on the ground and releases the booby trap set by Royce when he turns him over. The Predator is briefly dazed by the explosion and Royce takes this opportunity to attack. He had previously laid a gunpowder trail and rubbed his body with mud, as Isabelle von Dutch Schaefer had told him. In this way, it is difficult to see for the Predator's thermal vision . With the help of Isabelle, who can move around reasonably again, he manages to kill the last Predator.
While Isabelle and Royce are sitting around a campfire, they see new parachutes in the sky. Royce wants to quickly find a way to escape from this planet. Exhausted, both go into the jungle.

Robert Rodriguez already expressed thoughts on a sequel to the film in 2010. Actor Adrien Brody was also tempted to slip into the role of Royce one more time.
In June 2014, 20th Century Fox announced a relaunch of the film series, directed by Shane Black , who will also write the script with Fred Dekker as co-screenwriter. Production is scheduled to John Davis take over. In November 2015 it was announced that the script had now been written so that filming of the film could begin in October 2016. Arnold Schwarzenegger explained in an interview to his fans that he could imagine coming back in his old character role in the film project. Another actor who is interested in participating in the project and announced this in a press release is the rapper 50 Cent . September 13, 2018 was named as the German theatrical release.
