Fred Dekker

Fred Dekker (born April 9, 1959 in San Francisco , California ) is an American film director and screenwriter .

Career

Dekker began his career in the film business as a screenwriter in 1986 when he wrote the screenplay for the horror film House - The Horror House , which was directed by director Steve Miner . In the same year he made his debut as a director with the film The Night of the Creeps , for which he also worked as a screenwriter. The film was back in the horror genre, as was Monster Busters, directed in 1987 . In 1991 the action film Ricochet appeared , for which Dekker wrote the story. Between 1989 and 1992 he wrote a total of five scripts for the horror television series Tales from the Crypt , and only once did he direct. The 1993 film RoboCop 3 was his last work as a director. He also said goodbye to the film business for the next eight years and only appeared again in 2001 as an associate producer of the television series Star Trek: Enterprise . For this he was again active as a screenwriter and wrote three stories. It was not until more than ten years later that he reappeared as an author. In 2015 the television film The Edge was made . Predator - Upgrade followed in 2018, and he was involved in developing the script.
