Sture Stork, who was a member of the Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet , took part in two Olympic Games in the 5.5 meter class . At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 he was alongside Hjalmar Karlsson crew member of skipper Lars Thörn . The three Swedes won three of the seven races with the Rush V and were Olympic champions with 5527 points ahead of the American boat around Robert Perry and the Australian boat led by Jock Sturrock . He also participated in his second Olympic participation in Tokyo in 1964 as a crew member of Lars Thörn, this time alongside Arne Karlsson , Hjalmar Karlsson's son. With the Rush VII , after two first and four fourth places, they only had to admit defeat to Barrenjoey from Australia, controlled by Bill Northam , and thus won the silver medal in front of the American bingo by skipper John McNamara .
