Ernst Arne Karlsson (born March 23, 1936 in Örebro ) is a former Swedish sailor .

successes

Arne Karlsson, who was a member of the Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet , took part in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo . He did this alongside Sture Stork as a crew member of skipper Lars Thörn . With the Rush VII , after two first and four fourth places, they only had to admit defeat to Barrenjoey from Australia, controlled by Bill Northam , and thus won the silver medal in front of the American bingo by skipper John McNamara .

Thörn and Stork became Olympic champions in 1956 with Karlsson's father Hjalmar Karlsson . His brother Per-Olof also took part in an Olympic sailing regatta in Rome in 1960 .
