Ulf Sundelin, who was a member of the Kungliga Svenska Segelsällskapet , took part in the Olympic Games twice. At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City , he was the skipper of the Swedish boat, the crew of which consisted of Sundelin's brothers Jörgen and Peter . The brothers dominated the regatta in the 5.5-meter class with five wins in a total of seven races and one result. With eight points they were clearly ahead of the Swiss boat around Louis Noverraz and the British boat Olympic champion led by Robin Aisher . Four years later , the Sundelin brothers competed in the kite class at the Games in Munich , whose sailing regattas were held at the Schilksee Olympic Center in Kiel , as the 5.5 meter class was no longer Olympic. With 67.4 points, they finished the competition in sixth place.

The Sundelins were also very successful at world championships . In 1965 they won the bronze medal in the dragon in Sandhamn , before they succeeded in winning the silver medal in the 5.5 meter class at the same location four years later. In 1971 they became world champions in kite in Hobart .
