The Professionals - The Next Generation ( CI5: The New Professionals ) was a British television series that was produced in 1998 by Sky One and first broadcast in 1999.

The series builds on the series " Die Profis ", which was broadcast in the 1970s. Here, too, the focus is on agents of the fictional secret service " CI5 " ( Criminal Intelligence Department 5 ).

The group now consists mainly of agents Curtis, Keel, Backus and the leader of the team Malone. The CI5 is subordinate to the Ministry of the Interior. The Home Secretary is played by Charlotte Cornwell . As in the original series, emphasis is placed on action scenes. However, the series was not particularly successful, so further seasons were omitted.

In Germany, the series was broadcast on the first in autumn 1999 and then repeated in third programs .
