Jan-Philipp Sendker

Jan-Philipp Sendker (* 1960 in Hamburg ) is a German journalist and writer .

Life

Jan-Philipp Sendker grew up as a child of retailers in Hamburg. After graduating from high school, he became a freelance journalist. From 1990 to 1995 he was Stern's America and Asia correspondent from 1995 to 1999 . After another stay in America, he returned to Germany. Sendker found a small publisher in the USA for his initially only moderately successful debut novel, Das Herzenehlen , and the book became a bestseller there thanks to reader recommendations .

Sendker is married to an art historian and lives as a freelance writer with his family in Potsdam .
