Peter Stormare (* 27. August 1953 in Kumla as Peter Ingvar Rolf Storm ) is a Swedish actor .

life and career

Stormare, who grew up in Arbrå in the municipality of Bollnäs in Sweden, began his acting career at Dramaten in Stockholm , of which he was a permanent member for eleven years. In 1990 he took a senior post ("Associate Artistic Director") at the Tokyo Globe Theater and made a name for himself through various Shakespeare performances such as Hamlet . Three years later he went to New York and from then on appeared mainly in English language productions.

Striking supporting roles in blockbusters like Forgotten World: Jurassic Park , Armageddon - The Judgment Day and Minority Report made a broad audience familiar with his face, his portrayal in Fargo - Bloody Snow is particularly well known . In 2005 he made a memorable brief appearance as Lucifer in the mystery thriller Constantine . In the game Quake 4 , released in 2005 , he voiced the character Technician Strauss . He achieved a certain cult status thanks to his appearances as “V-Dub” in the “Un-Pimp Your Auto” television advertising campaign by Volkswagen, which is popular in the USA . He often embodies Russians in film productions.

In Hitler - Rise of Evil Stormare played the SA chief Ernst Röhm . In the television series Prison Break , he played the mafia boss John Abruzzi.

He also plays Erich von dem Bach-Zelewski in the music video for Uprising by the power metal band Sabaton and the "Replacer" in Call of Duty: Black Ops II . He also played the psychoanalyst Dr. AJ Hill in the video game Until Dawn . He also starred in the television series The Blacklist . In the music video Stand on the band Lindemann , he embodies one of the main characters alongside fellow countryman Peter Tägtgren .

Stormare lives in both the USA and Sweden. He is divorced from his first wife, colleague Karen Sillas , and they have a daughter named Kelly.

Peter Stormare is dubbed in some films by Klaus-Dieter Klebsch .
