content

Police commissioner Erik Bäckström is sent to his deceased brother's home village to investigate the murder of a young woman. The village policeman Torsten quickly has a suspect ready. In Erik's opinion, Torsten insists too stubbornly on arresting the drunkard Jari. But Torsten always provides new evidence of Jari's guilt. When he begins to prevent Erik from investigating himself and even becomes violent, the experienced criminalist is sure that Torsten is trying to cover up something.

background

Like the first part, Jägarna 2 was filmed in the northernmost Swedish province of Norrbotten County .

criticism

"Thriller with dense tension that charmingly combines family drama and genre history and lets you look into human abysses."

“[T] he film [fulfills] all expectations of a thriller from Sweden. Thematically, that would be the conflict between the individual who is on the side of the law and the conspiratorial criminal community. The antagonism takes place against the background of a natural landscape, the originality and roughness of which symbolizes the animal side of humans. Formally, the abysmal finds its equivalent in a gloomy imagery, which, however, is based on little more than routine staging. So nothing new from the north - and yet definitely worth seeing. "
