Overview

After his friends get married and move apart, Joey Tribbiani moves from New York to Los Angeles . There he wants to advance his acting career. He moves in with his nephew Michael, which Michael’s mother Gina, Joey’s sister, doesn’t really like at first. The trio is completed by Joey's neighbor, the married lawyer Alex, and Joey's agent Bobbie.

Joey remains the same lovable heartthrob in the new environment who does not always have the fastest perception. His sister Gina is just as simple, has a slightly rougher tone, likes to dress provocatively and cheaply, and not least because of this she is just as popular with the opposite sex as her brother. Gina had her son Michael at the age of 16 and raised him alone. He is the counterpart of his relatives, a highly intelligent college student who is a bit shy and awkward with other people. This especially includes women he is interested in. Neighbor Alex is a capable lawyer, albeit a little insecure in personal dealings, and is easily intimidated by Gina in particular. Since Alex's husband is mostly out of town, she spends a lot of time with the three of them. Agent Bobbie is very similar to Joey's New York agent, Estelle. (This "passed away" in the tenth season of Friends.)

Critics generally rate the series as a decent, if not outstanding, sequel to the hugely successful Friends series. After initial peaks, the odds are rather mediocre. The broadcaster NBC has only partially achieved its goal of using a spin-off to keep the Friends slot, which has been orphaned after ten seasons, only partially. The series already had a number of prominent actors in guest roles. None of the five other main characters from Friends were there. After all, led David Schwimmer (Friends' Ross Geller) at two episodes (5 and 13) directed . There were no guest appearances by Joey's friends from Friends , as the series should first be fully established.

synchronization

The German synchronization was carried out by the Tele München Gruppe . Marc Boettcher directed the dialogue . Although Joey is a spin-off from Friends, Matt LeBlanc got a new voice actor for this series with Olaf Reichmann instead of Roland Frey.
