Drea de Matteo
Drea de Matteo (born January 19, 1972 in Queens , New York City ; actually Andrea Donna de Matteo ) is an American actress and Emmy Prize winner.
Life
De Matteo studied at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts . She originally wanted to become a film director , but then began a career as an actress. From 1999 she became known to an international audience in the role of Adriana in the hit series The Sopranos . In 2004, de Matteo won an Emmy in the category Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the role and was nominated for the same role for the Golden Globe .
In the same year she received one of the leading roles in the series Joey . The spin-off of the series Friends was discontinued after two seasons. De Matteo was signed for the sixth season of the series Desperate Housewives in 2009 . There she played the new neighbor Angie Bolen, who is fleeing the police and her former boyfriend with her family. As of 2008, De Matteo was a recurring actress in the FX biker drama Sons of Anarchy . She portrayed Wendy, the drug addicted ex-girlfriend of Jax (Charlie Hunnam). In 2013 she was promoted to lead actress for the seventh and final season of the series.
Drea de Matteo met country singer Shooter Jennings in 2001. In 2009 the couple got engaged; the separation took place in 2012. The relationship resulted in two children. At the end of July 2015 she got engaged to the musician Michael Devin.
From 1997 to 2007 she and her ex-partner Michael Sportes owned the Filth Mart clothing store in the East Village . Drea de Matteo currently lives in New York City.
