Adam Goldberg (born October 25, 1970 in Santa Monica , California ) is an American actor , director and screenwriter .

Career

Adam Goldberg is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College . Goldberg had his first major role in 1992 on the side of Billy Crystal in The Last Comedian - Mr. Saturday Night . This was followed by roles in Steven Spielberg 's Saving Private Ryan and Ron Howards EDtv . A Beautiful Mind followed in 2001 with Russell Crowe . After making his directorial debut with Scotch and Milk in 1998, Goldberg directed the 2003 documentary Running with Bulls and the critically acclaimed film I Love Your Work starring Giovanni Ribisi , Franka Potente and Christina Ricci . In 2014 he began shooting his fourth directorial work, the film No Way Jose , for which he also wrote the screenplay. Goldberg starred in several episodes of the US series Friends , My Name Is Earl and Joey . Various appearances as a guest actor in various television films and series followed. In 2014 he took on the role of Mr. Numbers in the television series Fargo, alongside Billy Bob Thornton and Martin Freeman .
