Martin Freeman
Martin John Christopher Freeman (born September 8, 1971 in Aldershot , Hampshire , England ) is a British actor .
life and career
Martin Freeman is the youngest of five children. His parents separated when he was five and a half years old. When he was ten, his father Geoffrey Freeman died of a heart attack . In his childhood, Freeman suffered from asthma and Perthes disease . At fifteen he joined a youth theater group and later studied acting at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London .
In the English-speaking world, Martin Freeman became known for the comedy series The Office , which was produced from 2001 to 2003 and which received a Golden Globe among other things . He has appeared in a number of movies including Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G in da House , Love Actually, and Shaun of the Dead . He starred as Arthur Dent in the film adaptation of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy from Douglas Adams ' book of the same name . Peter Greenaway engaged him in 2006 as Rembrandt in Nightwatching . Freeman took on another film lead role in the Christmas comedy The Christmas Muffle . It was released in the UK in 2009 and opened in German cinemas in December 2011.
Since 2010, Freeman plays in the BBC television series Sherlock Holmes ' companion Dr. John Watson . This marked his final breakthrough. For his performance, he received the BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Role in 2011 and an Emmy nomination in 2012 . Freeman played the lead role Bilbo Baggins in Peter Jackson's three-part film adaptation of Tolkien - novel The Hobbit . In 2014 he starred in the television series Fargo , a spin-off of the film of the same name .
In 2016, Freeman starred in The First Avenger: Civil War as US government official Everett K. Ross. He took on this role again in the film Black Panther .
So far, no German voice actor has established himself for Freeman. It was spoken most often by Manuel Straube , Philipp Brammer , Oliver Rohrbeck and Sebastian Schulz .
Freeman appears politically. In the British general election in 2015 , he supported the Social Democratic Labor Party .
With his long-time partner, actress Amanda Abbington , Freeman has been in front of the camera in various productions since 2000. The couple have a daughter and a son and lived together in Hertfordshire until they separated in 2016 . Freeman is a pescetarian .
