Dedication is a 2007 American comedy film . Directed by Justin Theroux and written by David Bromberg.

action

The children's book author Henry Roth is friends with the draftsman Rudy Holt, who illustrates his books. After some joint work became successful, Holt dies. Roth's publisher Arthur Planck hires the graphic artist Lucy Reilly. As Roth's performance deteriorates and there is a fixed date for the publication of the next book, Planck offers Reilly a bonus if she gets Roth to write.

Reilly's ex-boyfriend Jeremy, who broke up with her two years earlier, shows up again. He dedicates his new book to her. However, Reilly and Roth often meet to work, whereby they grow closer.

Reviews

Roger Ebert wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times on September 21, 2007 that one could like Billy Crudup and Mandy Moore. The viewer likes her so much that he regrets seeing her in this film.

Todd McCarthy wrote in Variety magazine on January 28, 2007 that the individual scenes in Justin Theroux's directorial debut had a certain flair, but overall the film looked unwelcoming. Theroux did not master his keynote. Moore acts "perfectly" , but you could have shown the character she played at work.
