Amy Louise Sedaris (born March 29, 1961 in Endicott , New York ) is an American actress and comedian .

Life and accomplishments

Sedaris has Greek ancestors; the author David Sedaris is her brother. She was temporarily a member of the theater company The Second City . She played her first film role alongside Tim Curry in the 1991 television movie Big Deals . In the adventure comedy Six Days, Seven Nights (1998) with Harrison Ford , she played the role of Robin Monroe's ( Anne Heche ) secretary . She made her appearances in the Comedy Central comedy series Strangers with Candy , in which she appeared in 1999 and 2000.

In the romantic comedy Manhattan Love Story (2002) Sedaris played one of the bigger roles alongside Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes . In the comedy Strangers with Candy (2005) she took the lead role. In the comedy Dedication (2007) she starred alongside Billy Crudup and Mandy Moore . She has been speaking in the original Princess Caroline in the Netflix animated series BoJack Horseman since 2014 .

Since 2011 she has appeared as a laundry expert in commercials for fabric softener capsules of the brands Downy and Lenor by the detergent company Procter & Gamble , which are broadcast in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Slovakia and the United Kingdom.
