Taken - The time is your enemy (Original title: Taken ) is an American television series by Alexander Cary , which is based on the trilogy of the same name with Liam Neeson . The young Bryan Mills is played by Clive Standen in the series . The series takes place in the present and not in the past, which creates a discontinuity with the plot of the films in terms of timing.

The ten-part first season of the series premiered on February 27, 2017 on NBC , after having previously received a direct order in September 2015. A broadcast on German-language television started on February 28, 2018 on Nitro .

In May 2017, NBC announced the production of a 16-part second season. With the exception of the main actors Standen and Jennifer Beals , there was an exchange of the rest of the cast, as well as the show runner .

reception

Felix Böhme from the industry portal Serienjunkies.de thinks that the prequel series is “mainly characterized by boredom and an uninteresting topic” and that the “TV professionals behind and in front of the camera” “fail to tell a story that is even remotely enthralling”. He goes on to say that the action drama brings "neither fresh ideas and unspent approaches nor a few skilful borrowings from their cinematic model".
