Markus Stolberg

Markus Stolberg (born May 19, 1953 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian actor .

Live and act

Stolberg attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from September 1972 to June 1973 and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art . In 2005 a course was added at the Hamburg Film School (class Hark Bohm ). Even before he went to drama school he worked as an actor in the theater. Between 1970 and 1980 he played at the Residenztheater in Munich and at the Stadttheater Bern, among others in the Goethe tragedies Faust and Egmont , but also in modern plays such as The Sea by Edward Bond . In addition, he received the supporting role of piccolo in the operetta Im Weißen Rößl . In 1992 he continued his theater career in Vienna at the Theater in der Josefstadt and at the Volkstheater . In Hof , where he was awarded the Bavarian Theater Prize for his role as poet in Schnitzler's Reigen , he also appeared in Shakespeare's Midsummer Night 's Dream . In 1994 and 1995 he was engaged at German theaters, from 1996 to 1998 at Austrian theaters, mainly at the Metropolis Theater in Salzburg. This was followed by many years in which he was employed in various types of stage work in various North German houses, interrupted several times by engagements at the Jagsthausen Castle Festival .

His career in film and television began in 1978 with a supporting role in the feature film The First Polka . From 1982 he continuously held roles in films and TV productions. In 1987 he played in Lenin's historical train ride from 1917, a two-part television film The Train at Ben Kingsley's side . In early evening series such as Der Landarzt , Forsthaus Falkenau , Lindenstrasse , Rote Rosen , Großstadtrevier and the children's crime series Die Pfefferkörner , he occasionally appears in supporting roles, often as mayor, judge or school director.

Stolberg also works as a radio play , audio book and voice actor. Here, too, he can be found in the adult segment (e.g. dream novel , Madame Bovary ) as well as the one for younger people (e.g. The Little Ghost , Ghostbusters John Sinclair , The Last of the Mohicans ). On the Deutschland , the cruise ship made famous by the TV series Das Traumschiff , he held literary readings on various routes related to the respective sights. He also takes on speaking roles of all kinds, for example for PC games or museum audio guides .

The Austrian citizen and father of three sons lives in the Hamburg district of Bergedorf .
