Small theater (Salzburg)

The Small Theater is a cabaret in the city of Salzburg .

The theater was founded in 1984 as "Das Kleine Theater Schallmoos" under the direction of Claus Tröger. The theater at Schallmooser Hauptstrasse 50 offers space for up to 150 people.

A second venue, the Metropolis Theater, had to be closed after bankruptcy in 1999. After the bankruptcy, Ferdinand L. Jansky took over the management of the theater on a voluntary basis in 2000.

The Small Theater has been the home of the independent, professional theater scene in Salzburg since 2007 and defines itself as a venue, initiator and cooperation partner. In addition to contemporary theater and cabaret, children's and youth theater is regularly shown in the 150-seat building. The Small Theater pays special attention to cooperation with kindergartens and schools.
