Susanne Knaack is a contemporary representative of German conceptual painting. Strongly influenced by American Abstract Expressionism and one of its main exponents , Jackson Pollock , she creates painting that is not traditionally 'painted' with a brush, but is created using her pouring technique that has been developed and refined over the years. The Berlin art historian and art critic Dr. It's not for nothing that Sebastian Preuss writes about the 'inner landscapes' that arise in this way. The painting, in black and white and its mixtures (with light brown and blue nuances), creates formations before the human eye that is interpreted in the perception and memory of the viewer for landscape painting and as a 'seascape', even if this is for landscape painting atypical portrait format contradicts this. The abstract paintings evoke the observer to immerse himself in the pictorial landscape, which he unconsciously equates with landscape painting .
