Patricia Wilson, called Pat by everyone, works as an insurance detective for the large insurance company IVV in the Thai capital Bangkok . She is led by the board members Dr. Andreas Giesel and Wanchai set on the former employee Jan Hansen, who is accused of embezzling a double-digit million amount. The trail leads to a plastic surgery clinic , where Hansen is said to have undergone a facial operation in order to then appear as a financier under the name of Sven Miller.
At the first meeting with Miller, however, the latter denies Pat's questions and denies being Jan Hansen. But Pat suspects that Miller is lying and tries to get more out of him on various dates. What she doesn't know, however, is that Miller and Dr. Giesel arranged a meeting at which it becomes clear that Dr. Giesel is the real criminal. Miller suggests faking a murder on himself and hiding him with his explosive knowledge. Giesel agrees to the plan and instructs Wanchai to handle it, but Miller alias Hansen is actually supposed to be killed.
After an evening date, Pat spends a passionate night with Miller, during which he confesses to her that he is Jan Hansen. They both fall in love and decide to go into hiding together. Before they can implement their plan, however, Jan is shot in the hotel lobby and it looks like he didn't survive. In truth, however, he was protected by a bulletproof vest and managed to use the ambulance to escape. Jan drives to Pat and together they can escape, but have to separate because they are being followed. Dr. Giesel has now commissioned Wanchai to shadow and kidnap Pat in order to get to Jan. He does not know that Wanchai increasingly disagrees with Giesel's machinations.
The plan works and Pat can be caught. However, she is freed again by Jan. Shortly afterwards he introduces his pretty daughter, Gloria, to Pat, whom he wants to protect for whatever reason. He also explains to her that Giesel hired him as his financial advisor to invest company money in the Japanese yen , despite his advice , which led to large losses. Without Giesel's knowledge, Jan had also invested in the euro and made a double-digit million profit. Giesel wants this money for himself. Pat contacts Wanchai and puts him on her side. When Jan and Pat spend a romantic night in a vacation home, the building is bombed. However, a few minutes earlier, Pat had been warned by Wanchai. A funeral ceremony is held, believing that both have been killed. Only Gloria and Wanchai know that Pat and Jan are alive and can now lead a quiet life in secret. Dr. Giesel is removed from office and replaced by Wanchai.
