Cook's Cottage in Fitzroy Gardens , Melbourne

Cook's Cottage is the only building in Melbourne that was built in the 18th century . Originally it was in 1755 in Yorkshire ( England built). In 1933 it was dismantled and transported to Australia . Many people are reminded of the discoverer of the Australian east coast, James Cook , who never set foot in Melbourne or Victoria . Cook's Cottage was built and later owned by his parents. Captain Cook himself probably never entered the house. Around the house there is a cottage garden in the style of the time, on the flagpole the Union Jack flies under which Cook sailed and took over Australia's east for Great Britain. The cottage is located in the romantic Fitzroy Gardens , which was laid out on 26 hectares as early as 1848 and is regularly visited numerous Saturdays by wedding parties for photo shoots.
