Reviews

Roger Ebert scoffed in the Chicago Sun-Times of March 25, 1988 that the script looked like its three writers had been sitting in an office trying to line up the stereotypes. This results in a structure with a number of the necessary scenes, but not complex and human characters. The scenes in which Walker is courted during his college visits would appear just as implausible as they are uncomfortable. Ebert said the film writers should be ashamed.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was " a hard-to-end mixture " and a " thin ready-made film for American teenagers with the usual components of sports, music, sex and slap entertainment ".

Awards

Ted Nugent was nominated for the Golden Raspberry in 1989 for the song Skintight .
