Carsten Schmelzer

Carsten Schmelzer (* 1964 ) is a German musician and music producer from Berlin .

Life

At the age of 6 Schmelzer began to play the piano and also took piano lessons. When he was 15 he started playing the electric bass. Carsten Schmelzer graduated from high school at the age of 18 and then turned to a career as a professional bassist.

In 1988 he studied music for one year at the Bass Institute of Technology (BIT) in Los Angeles . In 1989 Schmelzer graduated with the distinction of 'Honors'. He worked as a freelancer and band member - with Jennifer Rush , Romy Haag , the Petra Zieger Band, Rosenstolz , Renft , Potsch Potschka ( Spliff ), Frank Diez ( Peter Maffay ), Jean-Jacques Kravetz (Lindenberg), the Joey Albrecht Band , among others ( Kartago ), Pete Wyoming Bender , RAD , Village Voices , TrioRio and various other bands of different styles.

In 1990 Carsten Schmelzer won the Berlin studio jazz competition with the band The Visit . In 2006 he composed the music for the Emmy Award winning series Rocket & Me (2008). In 2008 Schmelzer founded the production team "3Berlin" together with Tobias Weyrauch and Diane Weigmann .
