Diane Weigmann
Diane Weigmann (born January 4, 1974 ) is a German musician from Berlin .
Life
In 1989, Diane Weigmann was one of the co-founders of the Lemonbabies , which released four albums until it was dissolved in 2002. In the quartet she was responsible for guitar and vocals.
Under the name Diane Lemonbaby , she took over the composition and a vocal part of the duet Chocolate for the tears for the film Kaliber Deluxe together with Bela B. In the same year she was the female vocal part of the single "Sometimes women have" by the band Die Ärzte .
After the Lemonbabies broke up, she began a career as a solo artist and in 2004 had appearances with a new band of her own in the opening act for Jan Plewka's band Zinoba's tour of Germany . Diane followed a year later - the album with the song Das Beste as the first single. Both records stayed in the charts for several weeks. In the same year she received a nomination for the German Radio Awards in the category “best female pop national”. In addition, she had a support tour - alone and unplugged - for the Swedish artist Moneybrother and was invited by Paul Weller to accompany him on his tour of Germany as a supporting act. In 2006 the solo album In Doubt still followed , produced with Patrik Majer , and a participation in Stefan Raab's Bundesvision Song Contest 2006 , which she repeated in 2010 to support the recorder of death .
In 2007 and 2008 she supported the Laith Al-Deens tour and was on a solo tour with a small cast, unplugged and with various guests, including Bosse , Medlz , Daniel Ziese and Michel van Dyke . Since then she has also been composing for other artists in the pop and hit field: together with Tobias Weyrauch and Carsten Schmelzer, she also founded the production team “3Berlin” in 2008. a. Radio plays and songs for brands such as Barbie , Bobby Car , Little Pet Shop, Grüffelo , Alea Aquarius , Schlafmützen as well as the complete “Summ, Summ, Summ” children's song series or TV formats such as u. a. the sandman produced. The team also wrote the theme song for the Smart Mouse Tutorial for Microsoft. With “Von Farbenfeen und Stinkesocken” and the CD series “Not from bad parents”, the team also established itself as a live band for children and families. Weigmann also wrote the translations for children's TV formats such as Strawberry Shortcake , Yu-Gi-Oh or Dreckspatzplatz .
In 2013, Weigmann's own label, Rotschopf Records , released the album No Blank Slate , which was funded by fans through the Pledge Music platform. She also received the sponsorship award for young songwriters from the CSU- affiliated Hanns Seidel Foundation .

Diane Weigmann composed and wrote lyrics a. a. for and with the following musicians and performers: Howard Carpendale , Christina Stürmer , die Höhner , Curt Cress , Thomas D , Yvonne Catterfeld , July , Jess ( No Angels ), Voxxclub , André Stade , Luttenberger Klug and Vanessa Maurischat . Together with Michael Beckmann ( Rainbirds ) she also produced film and advertising productions, songs for the movie Wendy 2 and wrote the title track for KI.KA Live with Till Brönner .
With Jens Oettrich she composed and produced the respective TV campaign song for Lenor for the whole of Europe.
Diane Weigmann has been the German voice of music for the Winx Club since 2004 and also writes the German translations. She also translates the lyrics for Disney series and other children's series. The song “The world is turning” from the solo debut in 2005 became a promotional song for the Glücksspirale . She also gives vocal coaching for actors and singers such as B. Julie Engelbrecht , Jana Pallaske , Dennenesch Zoudé and Bushido . In 2012 she was responsible for all of the lyrics and parts of the music for the musical Beats!
Her half-sister is the prostitution activist Felicitas Schirow .
Diane Weigmann is a full member of GEMA , a member of the German Text Poet Association , the Composers Association and Verso . She lives in Berlin-Schöneberg and is the mother of a son and a daughter.
