Musicians Institute
The Musicians Institute is a vocational school of music in Hollywood , Los Angeles , CA . The institution was launched in 1977 as the Guitar Institute of Technology , founded by jazz guitarist Howard Roberts , among others . Since then, the institute has expanded into a comprehensive contemporary music college that prepares its students for careers in many areas of the music industry. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM), the school offers bachelor's degrees, sound engineering courses, guitar making, and more. The GIT is the largest project within the MI. In connection with the GIT, the other institutes of the MI should be mentioned: The Bass Institute of Technology (BIT), the Keyboard Institute of Technology (KIT), the Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) and the Vocal Institute of Technology (VIT). There are also the following programs: Recording Institute of Technology (RIT), Recording Artist Program (RAP), Music Business Program (MBP), Guitar Craft Academy (GCA) and Film Institute of Technology (FilmIT).
