Rocket & Ich (Original title: I Got a Rocket!) Is an Australian cartoon series for children based on the book of the same name by Matt Zurbo , which was produced between 2006 and 2007 .

The boy Vinnie (short for Vincent) is given a rocket called "Rocket" for his thirteenth birthday. Not only can she fly, but also speak and perform all kinds of tricks, and she becomes Vinnie's best friend. Together with his two friends Gabby and Judy, they experience many adventures and face the challenges in their everyday life.

Production and publication

The series was produced in Australia between 2006 and 2007. A season with 52 episodes was created. Responsible production companies were Taffy Entertainment and SLR Productions. Directed by Glenn Kirkpatrick and written by Stu Connelly. The music for the series was written by the film composers Carsten Schmelzer and Lars Löhn.

The series was first broadcast on Network Ten . The German premiere took place on 18 April 2008 KI.KA instead. Further broadcasts took place on Das Erste .

In 2008 the series was awarded the American EMMY Film Prize in the "New Approaches" category.
