occupation

Die Fette Hoppe is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The contribution produced by MDR celebrated its premiere on December 12, 2013 in Weimar . It was first broadcast on television on December 26, 2013 on Das Erste . Christian Ulmen and Nora Tschirner play the leading roles as investigators Lessing and Dorn .

action

On his first day at work in Weimar, Chief Detective Lessing found himself on a large-scale operation. A crazy blackmailer has taken the pregnant detective inspector Kira Dorn hostage in the town hall. Lessing intervenes without hesitation and manages to overpower the hostage-taker, only to then discover that the criminal is in the police force: it is an operational exercise.

Shortly afterwards, a large amount of blood was found in the car of the Weimar sausage queen Brigitte Hoppe, which was towed by the traffic police. The butcher's Hoppe produces the "Fette Hoppe", supposedly the best grilled sausage in Thuringia , according to a secret recipe. Kira Dorn and Lessing find evidence that Ms. Hoppe has been the victim of a violent crime. As the saying goes around in Weimar that Ms. Hoppe is wearing a purse instead of her heart, the list of potential perpetrators is long. Among the suspects is her son Sigmar Hoppe, who has had a secret relationship with Nadine Reuter for some time, a woman Kira's age but who is already a widow of two. Investigators suspect that Nadine caused Sigmar to kill his mother.

But when a call comes in, everything seems different: Brigitte Hoppe was kidnapped and a ransom of 45,000 euros is to be handed over. But Dorn and Lessing have doubts as to whether the victim is still alive: after all, plenty of blood was found in the car. The handover of the money fails because the ransom money is apparently accidentally pulled from the trash can by Ms. Olm, head of the trade inspectorate. After the chase and interrogation, she has to be released for lack of evidence.

Eventually the body of Mrs. Hoppe is found on the property of her house where she lived with her son. However, Lessing immediately loses it again. The body is found again with the Bogdanskii, and Caspar Bogdanski confesses to having taken it with him after it was found. Karin Olm later turns out to be the perpetrator. Mrs. Hoppe's husband had an affair with Mrs. Olm. When she was confronted and attacked by Mrs. Hoppe, she struck her down in self-defense. However, she was still alive and was strangled by her when Ms. Olm found out.

At the end of the episode it turns out that Lessing and Dorn are a couple and Lessing is also the father of the unborn child.

backgrounds

The film was shot in Weimar from April 4, 2013 to May 3, 2013, but the sausage factory was located in Apolda . During the filming, Nora Tschirner was actually pregnant.

Christian Ulmen and Nora Tschirner were together already in the MTV - Comedy - TV series Ulmen order on camera. This is what an insider gag in the crime scene aims at: A butcher's employee says (phonetically) “Hohde!” - an artificial word - as a greeting. In an episode of Ulmen's order filmed in a slaughterhouse , Ulmen told Tschirner that “Hohde” was part of the typical vocabulary of this professional group, literally: “That's a butcher! Butchers do it that way! "

The case with the investigative team was initially planned as a single episode, the MDR announced before the first broadcast that it wanted to continue the series. The second film was shot in August 2014 in Weimar and the surrounding area, and it was broadcast on New Year's Day 2015.

One day after the television film was first broadcast, the Fette Hoppe was actually sold on the Weimar market square . Snack bar operator Lutz Teufel made his snack available during filming and is now selling the sausage that played a central role in the film.

Reviews

“Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier and a variation of the Tatort theme music lie above it all: the episode is of course a parody. Sometimes it hurts a little. But sometimes - after a year of ironclad Tatort quality debates - it is also a little good to see how calmly Ulmen and Tschirner scatter their sausage and puns. "

“'Die fette Hoppe' is an entertaining, albeit low-tension, gag fireworks display, in which the 'Tatort' debutants Nora Tschirner and Christian Ulmen already harmonize excellently and outdo each other with brisk sayings.”
