The cold frit is a television film from the crime series Tatort . The paper produced by the MDR was on February 11, 2018 First aired. In this 1047th Tatort episode, the Weimar Commissioners Lessing and Dorn investigate their sixth case.

action

Alonzo Sassen, a billionaire , is killed in a burglary. Sassen's much younger wife Lollo surprises the perpetrator and shoots him - apparently in self-defense . The commissioners Dorn and Lessing investigate the crime scene, and Lessing sees in the positions of Sassen's gunshot wounds (“heart, brain, testicles”) an analogy to a red-light district murder in Hamburg, in which “rough Klaus” - probably a contract killer - never was caught. As it stands, Sassen's precious picture, Soft Hard , was about to be stolen. Dorn believes it is entirely possible that Lollo Sassen wanted to get rid of her husband herself and has now also dealt with the perpetrator. Therefore, she is under observation, the investigators follow her to the brothel "Chez Chériechen". Before her marriage, she had worked as a dancer in the establishment run by Fritjof "Fritte" Schröder .

The brother of the brothel owner Fritte, Martin Schröder, is on the verge of financial ruin. His wife Cleo, however, is the owner of a quarry near Weimar, which she wants to sell: With its special geological shape, this is a possible location for the planned “ Goethe Geomuseum”. The sale would save the Schröders financially, who have to pay pain and suffering to "Rolf in a wheelchair" who had an accident in the quarry. However, Sassen had announced that he would donate another suitable piece of land to the city on Frauenplan, the location of Goethe's house . This was prevented by Sassen's murder - in favor of Martin and Cleo. A circumstance that made Martin Schröder a suspect. However, Martin and his brother Fritjof do not have the best relationship. And so Dorn believes it is possible that Fritjof Schröder has his own interests in real estate transactions. The suspicion of speculative deals is reinforced when the investigators find out that Schröder's daughter Simone works for architecture professor Ilja Bock. At the Bauhaus University, he is the chairman of the jury that decides on the location of the museum building.

One night Bock is killed with a bust of Walter Gropius . Lessing and Dorn find clues for a relationship between Bock and Martin Schröder's wife Cleo. They invite the Schröders to the Presidium and make it clear to them that as things stand, they will be held responsible for the murders. Cleo had tied with buck to influence the city's decision to buy the quarry. Because Sassen's donation would have made this obsolete, he was killed, and when Bock decided not to go to the quarry but to move to a different plot of land in Tiefurt , he was also killed. However, the Schröders deny such plans and actions. Since these are only investigators' guesswork, the couple remains at large. To be on the safe side, they check the ownership structure of the property in Tiefurt, which belongs to an offshore company where u. a. Bock is involved. In order to check her assumption that Fritjof Schröder is also involved and that he has a motive, Dorn distracts him with an application with auditions, while Lessing searches the brothel office and can confirm the assumption. As part of her application, Dorn is said to have sex with Rolf in a wheelchair, who, however, is not paralyzed at all and tries to rape her, which Lessing can prevent.

For Martin Schröder, the suspicions are difficult to bear. He is already suffering greatly from his professional failure and the bankruptcy of the quarry. Now he thinks it is possible that his brother started the murders just to harm him. From his wife he now has to find out that his brother has even put a lie into the world by convincing Martin's daughter Simone that he is her father instead of Martin. For Martin the measure is now full and he goes to see his brother. Once again he experiences the rejection of Fritjof, who sees himself at the height of his personal vengeance campaign. But when Fritjof claims that Cleo asked him to get a killer, Martin freaks out. He beats up his brother and takes him to the quarry, where he wants to kill him, but first wants to see him suffer. Lessing and Dorn can just save Fritjof before Martin detonates an explosive charge, which also puts Dorn's life in danger. Unfortunately, Fritjof was right with his claim and the assignment to the killer was actually Cleo's idea, as was the murder of Bock. After the dramatic events in the quarry, she admits the deeds.

A sideline is the relationship between Kurt Stich, Lessing and Dorn's superior, and his father. Udo Stich has a less glorious past and is only proud that, according to him, the “best bull in Thuringia” is his son, even if he is himself constantly interfering in its work. He feels confirmed in his assessment when, in the end, he tries to run away with the young widow Lollo Sassen and the valuable painting of the millions, Soft Hard , but is stopped by his son on a border with Italy.

Reviews

“The plot-and-building plot for the 'Goethe-Geomuseum' does not develop a trait, the father-son tragedy about district boss Stich does not go into depth. The prostitution plot is particularly uncomfortable. [...] As if a comedy could explain the risky working conditions in the sex worker milieu. "

Luise Checchin wrote for the Süddeutsche Zeitung : “The Weimar crime scene is not a classic crime scene. It's about pun and figure drawing, not about building tension. The cases of Commissioners Dorn and Lessing are more or less irrelevant. In 'Der Kalten Fritte' the case is even a bit more irrelevant than usual. It seems that even the characters involved are not particularly interested in their actions and the relationships between them are [...] strangely sterile. "

Rainer Tittelbach from Tittelbach.tv assesses the film as "dramaturgically and film-aesthetically great" and wrote: "Again it is a genre mix of the most diverse emotional moods and cinematic tones: The investigators are used to being witty and flippant, and the interview style and that remain amusing Game by Tschirner & Ulmen, but there are also tragic, dramatic & tense moments that work perfectly. "

The Frankfurter Neue Presse , on the other hand, said that the new Weimar crime scene was “far below its potential”. The script does not use the "potentially highly exciting constellation" of the story. "The nested plot ripples rather tenaciously" and creates a lot of "confusion".

Audience ratings
