Arndt Schwering-Sohnrey (born November 6, 1968 in Holzminden ) is a German actor .

Life

Arndt Schwering-Sohnrey grew up in Neuhaus im Solling . He is the great-grandson of the writer and social reformer Heinrich Sohnrey . As a child he accompanied his father Hanfried Schwering-Sohnrey to readings of his great-grandfather's texts.

education

His school career was interrupted by a change of school and two repetitions of a class. He could not identify with the rigid school structures. At the Georg-von-Langen School in Holzminden he finally completed his Abitur with a major in economics. He then did two years of community service in the field of care for the severely disabled.

His youth in the rural area around Neuhaus was not only influenced by the literary line of his own family but also by little cultural influences. He founded a youth group and began his first productions at the age of 12, he made his first short film at 14, which was then shown at the International Short Film Festival in Hamburg . From 1993 to 1997 he studied acting at the Hanover University of Music and Theater .

In the Tatort episodes with Commissioners Lessing and Dorn from Weimar , Schwering-Sohnrey has been regularly seen in the supporting role of police officer Ludwig Maria "Lupo" Pohl since 2015.

Artistic research

In addition, Schwering-Sohnrey is co-founder of the “ Society for Artistic Research ”, an initiative for artistic research. He works as a lecturer and coach at the Hanover University of Music and Drama and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He is an active member of the German and European Film Academy and founder of the "Institute for Adventure", an association for media project development that he set up together with the scriptwriter Liza Reichardt.
