SS-GB is a 6-part TV miniseries released by the BBC in 2017. It is based on the novel of the same name by Len Deighton .
content
The series takes place in an alternate universe in which the Third Reich won the Battle of Britain and successfully carried out Operation Sea Lion . The south of England including London is occupied by the Germans. Winston Churchill was executed, King George VI. is locked in the Tower of London , but his wife Queen Elizabeth and the two princesses Elisabeth and Margaret were able to flee to New Zealand . A government in exile led by Vice-Admiral Sir Edward Michael Conolly is not recognized by the USA .
In this scenario, Douglas Archer, Superintendent at Scotland Yard , is torn between collaborating with the occupiers to continue fighting crime effectively and the urge to join the resistance.
First broadcast and publication
It was first broadcast on February 19, 2017 on BBC One . The German premiere took place on RTL Crime from 14 November 2017. A publication on DVD and Blu-Ray with German soundtrack on 20 December 2017. On 15 December 2018 was this series in a free TV premiere in the RBB television to see.
