Kate Bosworth (* 2. January 1983 in Los Angeles , California as Catherine Anne Bosworth ) is an American actress .

Life

Bosworth grew up in San Francisco , California, Connecticut, and Massachusetts .

Career

Bosworth graduated from Princeton University in New Jersey . Her first film role was for The Horse Whisperer thanks to her talent for riding . Her breakthrough came in 2002 in the film Blue Crush , in which she plays a surfer who has to choose between love, friends and a competition.

Bosworth's greatest film role was that of Lois Lane in Bryan Singer 's Superman Returns (2006), a sequel to the Superman films starring Christopher Reeve from the 1970s and 80s. Her role here has a son together with Superman (played by Brandon Routh ).

Since May 2011, Bosworth has been the face of the "Fabric Of Our Lives" campaign by Cotton Inc.

Personal

On August 31, 2013, Kate Bosworth married director Michael Polish. Bosworth is a practicing Buddhist . A special feature are their different colored eyes, of which the left is blue and the right has a large hazel-brown speckle (sectorial iris heterochromia ).
