Aneurin Barnard (born May 8, 1987 in Ogwr , Wales ) is a Welsh film actor .

Life

Aneurin Barnard comes from a humble background. His father Terry is a miner and his mother June is a factory worker. Aneurin also has a sister, Ceri. His mother tongue is Welsh . Barnard grew up in Rhondda Cynon Taf , a borough in south Wales, where he graduated from school in the small town of Llanharry . As a young man, Barnard went to Cardiff , where he graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 2008 .

His film career began in 2003 when he played the young Prince Jonathan in the British Bible series Jacob's Ladder . Other smaller roles followed, including 2011 in the medieval film Ironclad - Until the Last Warrior . Barnard has also starred in horror films, including Citadel in 2012 and Elfie Hopkins that same year .

His breakthrough came in 2013 when he played the English King Richard III in the miniseries The White Queen . embodied. In 2015 he played the role of James the Elder in Killing Jesus , a biblical film adaptation .
