action
The Hotel Heidelberg has been owned by the Kramer family for years. With a heavy heart, Hermine Kramer hands over management to her eldest daughter Annette. However, she continues to live in the hotel and repeatedly interferes in the processes and decisions of her daughter. As the single mother of her son Jeremy and the hotel management, Annette is heavily burdened. Her boyfriend and future husband, Ingolf Muthesius, tries to relieve her, but as a psychotherapist has enough to do himself, especially since he shares the premises of his practice with his mother. She uses every opportunity to incite her son against Annette because she doesn't like her new daughter-in-law.
The Kramers not only have to deal with the growing demands of hotel guests, but also with all sorts of adversities that endanger hotel operations. After Hermine Kramer has decided to move into their own apartment with her new partner Richard, everyday life in the hotel seems to normalize. But there is also a new addition to the family when Annette and Ingolf decide to take in the orphan boy Ole, whom Ingolf treats as a patient and who has grown dear to him. Although Ole feels very comfortable with the Kramers, he realizes that he is somehow only a guest in the hotel because his new foster parents are too busy. When Annette becomes painfully aware of this, she decides to sell the hotel in order to finally be a real family for Ole with Ingolf.
After the death of their father, the sisters Mascha Hillinger and Karin Berger invest their inherited capital in the Hotel Heidelberg . After a thorough renovation of the old house, operations are resumed with new management. Various construction mishaps lead the sisters to suspect that their half-brother is not granting them their success and is trying to bring the hotel into disrepute with sabotage. Mascha and Karin can stop it in time and thus prevent worse.
