Meike Droste (born February 5, 1980 in Bobingen ) is a German actress .

Life

Meike Droste grew a few kilometers west of Augsburg located Neusäß on. She studied at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich from 1999 to 2003 and gained her first acting experience at the Munich Kammerspiele during her studies . In 2002 she moved to the Berliner Ensemble , where she played in productions by Claus Peymann in Turrinis Da Ponte in Santa Fe as well as the title role in Brecht's Die Heilige Johanna der Schlachthöfe and, directed by Leander Haussmann, in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream .

The 2004/05 season finally took her to the Schauspielhaus Zürich , where she played the role of Doris in The Artificial Silk Girl . Meike Droste has been a member of the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Berlin since the 2006/07 season , where she has worked with renowned directors such as Barbara Frey and Jürgen Gosch in various productions, including Chekhov's Der Kirschgarten and Uncle Wanja .

In 2001, Meike Droste was awarded first prize at the Carl Orff Foundation drama competition. For her role as Mascha in Anton Chekhov's Die Möwe at the Deutsches Theater and the Kammerspiele Berlin, she was awarded the Faust Theater Prize for the best performance in 2009. Jürgen Gosch's production was also named Production of the Year in 2009 by Theater heute magazine .

Meike Droste is known to the television audience so far above all as Police Master Bärbel Schmied alongside Caroline Peters and Bjarne Mädel in the crime series Murder with a View .

Droste lives in Berlin, is married and has two children.
