action

For various reasons, none of them understand Kati's decision to enter a monastery. Different life plans and attitudes as well as numerous conflicts between parents , uncle , brother and sister of the young religious come to light. As the ceremony is delayed, the family meets in an orchard near the monastery. Only the older sister, Saskia, manages to get to her younger sister in the monastery.

production

Filming began in June 2010, but had to be canceled due to the illness of the then planned leading actress Marie Bäumer . In addition, Hannelore Hoger , Herbert Leiser , Marie Leuenberger , Hans-Jochen Wagner , Nina Proll , Juliane Köhler and Jesper Christensen belonged to the original cast. For the restart of the shooting in September 2011, most roles were reassigned, only Jesper Christensen and Marie Leuenberger remained in the cast. Maria Schrader took over the leading role . The film was shot in Illmensee in Baden-Württemberg , in the Beuron Archabbey , in Bebenhausen , in Habsthal Abbey and in South Tyrol.

criticism

The film service described the film as a “[w] poor-hearted 'human comedy' about letting go” that was “entertaining, charming and thoughtfully told”. The events would be carried “visually and acoustically by the subtle art of poetic-silent ciphers”.

The FAZ column writes about the film: “Like so many scenes, it is well played and yet suffers from what 'sisters' struggle with throughout: an overconstruction of the fantastic elements that turns into predictable and a cast that you can tell that it wasn't thought that way at first. "
