The fairy tale of the twelve months is a German fairy tale film based on motifs by Josef Wenzig from the year 2019. It was created for the ARD series Six in One Stroke by Bremedia Produktion GmbH on behalf of ARD under the leadership of Radio Bremen , MDR and rbb for The first produced. It was first broadcast on television on December 26, 2019 on Das Erste.

Queen Clare has magical powers that allow her to set the annual clock from one month to the next. Thus she rules not only over the kingdom but also over the seasons.
Lately the months have observed that Queen Clare is getting weaker; they fear that this will cause them to lose their magical powers and thus no longer be able to set the seasons clock. The March woman, her friend September, the vain June and the other months suspect that the Frosty Prince is behind the whole thing. They should be right, because in fact the Frosty Prince tries together with February to prevent Queen Clare from setting the clock of the year to March on February 29th and thus to keep the time of her sphere of influence forever. Together, the other months manage to find the recipe for a miracle potion in her old magic book that could heal the queen. But only humans are able to solve the riddle and find the right ingredients. The corresponding months may help with each of the solved riddles, but only then. So the egg girl Luise and the cook Valentin are sent by the queen to find the ingredients.
Hopefully, the two rush off and find the objects they are looking for, although the Frosty Prince makes their task difficult and even tries to prevent it. After all the ingredients are together, the last February snow threatens to fail, which is absolutely necessary. February refuses to let it snow. Only when the Queen and the eleven other months assure him that it is not an unloved month for them, but belongs to it so that they are a unit, does he break his bond with the influence of the Frosty Prince and let it snow. The queen takes the now complete potion and is visibly recovering. With that the power of the Frosty Prince wanes and he melts.
The seasonal clock, which was moved on in good time, now rings in the spring and the March woman takes over the reign for the next month, which is happily celebrated by the Queen's subjects.

The shooting took place from February 19, 2019 to March 11, 2019 on 14 days of shooting. The film was shot in Hildesheim , Worpswede ( Worpsweder Käseglocke ) and Buchholz in the Nordheide , with the main location being Marienburg Castle south of Hanover .
The film has little to do with the original.
