The film The Brave Little Tailor is a German fairy tale film from 2008. It is based on the fairy tale The Brave Little Tailor and was created as part of the fairy tale film series Six in One Stroke , which Erste Deutsche Fernsehen first broadcast in the 2008 Christmas program.

On a summer morning, the tailor David meets a farmer's wife who tells him “Good mus! Good mus for sale. ” Plum purée sold. Disturbed while eating, he kills seven flies at the same time. This supposed heroic deed gets around and impressed King Ernst and his barefoot daughter Princess Paula. He holds out the prospect of David if he frees the kingdom from two giants who are up to mischief in the land. With a ruse, David actually manages to kill the two giants. But the hand of Princess Paula and parts of the promised kingdom are denied him. At the urging of his advisor, who wants to marry the princess himself, the king persuades him to go on further adventures. Only after catching a unicorn and a raging wild boar , in which David again proves his cleverness, is the king satisfied. In the end he is allowed to marry the beautiful Paula and share in the kingdom.

The film was shot in May and June 2008 in Ahrensburg Castle as well as in neighboring Hamburg , Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony . The first broadcast took place on December 26, 2008.
The interpretation is largely based on the template.
In the same year the Low German version of this fairy tale was published with the same cast under the title "The brave little tailor" (op platt).
