Dieter Bongartz
Dieter Bongartz (born March 25, 1951 in Dülken ; † November 18, 2015 in Cologne ) was a German writer . In addition to his work as a children's and youth novelist, he was best known as a screenwriter and filmmaker.
Life
Since 1980 Dieter Bongartz lived and worked in Cologne . He processed his memories of his own childhood in Dülken in the early 1960s in the children's novel Der tehnte Sommer des Kalli Spielplatz , which was made into a movie in 2003 based on its script under the title The tenth summer .
His television-produced films Bride of Christ , The Hidden City and the documentary series Ein Sommer und eine Liebe (WDR 1999) were each nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize . Bongartz dealt intensively with the topic of right-wing radicalism among young people, including in his 2003 book Makadam . In 2014, the two-part TV series Till Eulenspiegel was released , for which he wrote the script together with his daughter Leonie Bongartz.
Together with Patrick Findeis he ran a writing school in Cologne for young people of the SK Stiftung Kultur . He used to play an extra role in his films.
Bongartz was buried in a sponsorship grave in the Melaten cemetery in Cologne (lit. J).
